This Week's Sermon
I Am the Light of the World | March 19, 2017
From the very beginning, when God spoke and broke into the chaos of the darkness, light has been associated with the nature of God. So much so that when Moses looked at God’s back, Moses’ face began to glow. To the Hebrews, God’s presence in the wilderness was represented by glowing pillar of fire. In the temple era of Israel, God was represented through flames and candles in their most holy building. 1 John 1:5 doesn’t tell us that he is like light, but it says, “God is light…” Meaning that in God’s nature he illuminates and is perfection.
John 8:12 says, “I AM the light of the world.” This statement was bursting with meaning to his Jewish listeners - listen in as we unpack what Jesus said.
Community is crucial to Christianity. Jesus calls us to a personal relationship with God, but not a private one. We need other Christians in our lives who truly know us, love us, and push us to grow in our relationship with God.
The best way to connect and grow at Mosaic is to join one of our amazing community groups.
Every Sunday we offer children’s programs at our 9:30 a.m. service. We offer teaching for Nursery (9m – 3yr), Mini Mosaic (4yrs – grade 5) and Mosaic Teens.
Throughout the week, you can find family-friendly Community Groups to welcome you and your family with open arms.
As a young church with limited resources, we are propelled by the generous service of our volunteers. Your talents are needed at Mosaic Boston Church.
Join with some fantastic, loving people in Boston by serving periodically with your time and talents.
