Dear Mosaic Family, This Advent season we're looking at the four Authorized Biographies of Jesus Christ to inform our understanding of the first coming of Christ, and prepare for his second coming. Tomorrow we look at Christmas according to the Gospel of John, from John 1:1-18, one of the most theologically and philosophically rich texts ever written. In preparation for our time together, be sure to spend some time today meditating and reflecting on the text. The key verse in this text, regarding the 1st Advent of Christ, is verse 14: "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth."
What an incredible God we serve, who willingly humbled himself, and became flesh and lived with us. The God who spoke the universe into existence, became a fertilized egg, an embryo, a fetus. He entered the world as a baby. The infinite became an infant. God learned to crawl, stand, walk. The Alpha and Omega learned his ABC's (so to speak). God experienced childhood. God experienced puberty. That last one right there proves that God loves us. God experienced hunger, thirst, pain, sickness, loneliness, heartache, tears, as well as happiness. God laughed, and ate and drank and went fishing with friends. We worship a God who doesn't just know about what we're going through. He knows experientially everything you're going through.
Join us tomorrow as we look at John's account of the Advent of Jesus Christ from John 1:1-18.
Praying for you! Pastor Jan
P.S. We are not holding the 2nd morning service tomorrow. So we'll have two services: 9:30am at the Temple and 6pm at the Church of Our Saviour.
Every Sunday, Mosaic holds a youth group gathering during the 11:15 service. If you know anyone looking for a youth group, let them know!
Join us in the upper hallway of the Temple Ohabei Shalom for a time of pre-service prayer on Sundays at 8:45AM. We also have pre-service prayer the Church of Our Saviour at 5:30pm. It’s an opportunity for us to pray for the church, the city, and the world.
One morning service Dec. 27th and Jan. 3rd at 9:30am.
Mosaic’s Evening service moving to the Temple on Jan. 3rd, 5pm. In order to simplify our set-up/tear-down process and provide more room for our evening service, we’re moving to the Temple Ohabei Shalom. We’re also changing the time to 5pm.
Love Mosaic? Let people know! We would love it if you could take a minute to like/rate us on some social media sites, which makes it easier for others to find us when they are searching for a church in Boston!
